Jenn Rogar Band
Jenn Rogar music: CALIFORNIA SOULFUL FOLK FUNK!
Jenn Rogar is a prolific singer/songwriter/musician in the tradition of the great folk rock of the 70’s, and yet she is so much more! Jenn Rogar is an entertainer! Like Carole King and Buffy Saint Marie, Jenn Rogar’s original music and interpretations of cover songs reach all genres of music from folk to blues, jazz and R&B to rock, pop and country.
Jenn has even revived many traditional songs such as “The Water is Wide” “John Riley” and “Queen of Hearts” and made them upbeat and groovy. Jenn’s voice is unique and recognizable and has been described as having “a naturalness” and “soothing” and has been compared to Anne Murray, Norah Jones, Sheryl Crow and Linda Ronstadt.
Jenn’s energy, passion and enthusiasm on stage is influenced by her some of her favorite singers such as Judy Garland, Sarah Vaughn and Edith Piaf. In the tradition of Joan Baez and Bonnie Raitt, Jenn has performed her original political songs at numerous rallies at the California State Capitol and surrounding events regarding environmental and social justice issues.
Since 2012, Jenn Rogar has organized, hosted and performed at a tri-annual benefit concert for the homeless at Luna’s cafe in Sacramento, along with other local performers. All of the proceeds are donated to the Community Dinner Project to help feed and clothe the homeless.
Jenn Rogar’s band is comprised of top musicians. Travers Clifford (son of Dakota Sid) plays the electric guitar/mandolin and bass, Ken Rabiroff also plays electric guitar/bass, and Fred Nelson, Jr. (Oleander) is on drums.
Jenn Rogar has two albums out and is currently working on her third. Her debut album “Place Called Humanity” was released in 2008 and “The River” (featuring Mike Farrell) in 2013. Jenn performed with Mike Farrell as Jen and General from 2012 to 2013. Jenn Rogar’s official music video of “The River” can be found on her website www.jennrogar.com and on You Tube.
Jenn Rogar is an entertainer that will charm you and make you laugh with her off the cuff humor and song lyrics and simultaneously have you dancing and singing along.
